Disclosure

Affiliate disclosure

Modo Guide earns advertising commission. This page states how, in plain terms, as required by the Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guidelines (16 CFR Part 255).

The short version

Some links on this site are paid. If you follow one and sign up with the operator, we may receive a commission. It costs you nothing extra and changes nothing about the terms you receive. We have never been paid to publish a specific opinion, and no operator reviews a page before it goes live.

Which links are paid

Every paid link on this site points at a path beginning /go/ on this domain and carries the attributes rel="sponsored nofollow noopener". In the visible text they are labelled as offers or sponsored links, and the buttons are visually separated from the surrounding guidance. Links to the National Council on Problem Gambling, Gamblers Anonymous and other reference sources are not paid and never have been.

The /go/ path is a redirect that runs on this domain and forwards you to the operator, passing along campaign parameters where an ad platform supplied them. Everyone — readers, search crawlers and ad networks — gets the same response from it. We do not vary the destination by user agent, IP address or network, and we do not obscure the link target in the page source. That path is blocked in robots.txt because it is a redirect endpoint, not a page.

What the commission does not buy

  • It does not buy a rating. This site publishes no star scores or review counts.
  • It does not remove the unflattering parts. The guides cover state exclusions, slow free routes, verification friction and declined redemptions because those are part of the picture.
  • It does not create urgency. There are no countdown timers, no scarcity claims and no fabricated winner notifications anywhere on this site.
  • It does not buy placement in our structured data. No AggregateRating or Review markup is published here, because we operate no review system that could produce one honestly.

Who we are not

Modo Guide is not the operator of Modo and is not affiliated with it as a company. We hold no accounts, no balances and no funds, and we pay no prizes. Full detail is on the about page.
